The entire Krishnalanka area gets flooded whenever floods occur for the Krishna River is an Annual Phenomenon.
Constructing Retaining walls to safeguard these families during the floods has been the plan since 2009. It was Chandrababu Naidu who got a DPR readied for the retaining wall and started construction as well.

The work was planned in three phases. The first wall was between Ramalingeswara Nagar and Ranigari Thota while the second one was between Ranigari Thota and Kanakadurga Varadhi. And the last one was between Padmavathi Ghat and Kanakadurga Varadhi in the city.
The three walls combined are 3.44 Kilometers long and the then TDP government completed about 2.28 Kilometers of the wall.

This Retaining Wall was an important and complicated design. The complicated parts were completed during Chandrababu’s regime. It played a crucial role in saving the families residing in the area during the 2019 floods.
That is not about it. TDP Government would have completed the entire wall.

But then, the Opposition instigated the families whose houses had to be demolished for the wall construction. They did not cooperate with the Chandrababu Naidu Government even though they were promised houses and compensation.
YSR Congress even made them file cases in the courts. As a result, the wall was not totally completed.
Later, the leftover portions were completed by Jagan’s Government. In fact, TDP did not try to create problems by instigating the reluctant families.
In August 2019, there were pictures of Kodali Nani and Anil Kumar Yadav standing on the wall.
YSR Congress Social Media teams have been trying to engulf the total credit since yesterday. If they claim to have completed the wall in three months (Jagan took charge in June 2019) and there are photos of the wall in August), they are only trying to fool the people.
The problem is that knowing Jagan fully, it is very difficult for the people to trust him to do anything substantial other than freebies.
That is the reason why YSR Congress Social Media’s Credit Stealing efforts are not yielding results.
