For those who don’t already know, the richest man in the world, Elon Musk now owns the most used micro-blogging platform, Twitter. Soon after his arrival, there have been several speculations on the reformative changes that might soon be in effect with Twitter.
One of the speculations is that Twitter would soon be charging $20 a month for verified blue badge accounts on the platform. This in turn led to another speculation as a few commented that Twitter might be selling the blue badge credibility for $20 a month.
But it needs to be noted that this isn’t how Twitter intends to operate its pricing model. The said $20-a-month policy is likely to be imposed on accounts that are already with blue badges.
This isn’t like a token fee for non-verified users to get the verified badge, instead, it is a monthly charge for those who already have the same. The other misconception is just baseless speculation.
