Hyderabad Metro Rail Project will become Operational at least partially from January 3rd. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the project. Miyapur – SR Nagar and Nagole – Mettuguda routes are likely to be operational.

Nagole – Mettuguda route is ready more than a year ago and Miyapur – SR Nagar route works are finished more than eight months ago. As per the concession agreement signed with the then government of united Andhra Pradesh in 2010, the Hyderabad Metro Rail project should have been completed by July 4, 2017.
But then, the project is not completed due to Telangana Government’s delay in handing over the necessary land. The government also delayed the deciding of the route alignment issues. As the delay is due to the government, it has agreed to extend the project deadline until November 2018 the time for L&T to complete the project.
