Whenever an MLA visits their constituency, he/she comes in a luxurious SUV along with gunmen, personal secretaries and a bunch of leaders. A series of vehicles will be a part of his/her convoy.
But here is an MLA who chose to serve the people by giving up all luxuries, mingling with them as a common citizen, and working to solve their problems.
We are talking about Galla Madhavi, TDP MLA from Guntur West constituency. In order to be with the people, Madhavi started touring divisions in her constituency on a two-wheeler.
She is starting from her home early in the morning at 6 am and touring across various areas, addressing people’s concerns. As of now, she toured 18,19,23 and 39 divisions of her constituency.
“When I started touring at the ground level, I came to know about the hardships faced by the public in the last five years,” stated Madhavi.
She said that the local officials seem to be still in a deep sleep, even one month after the government was changed. “It would be better if they come out of YCP mode and start serving people. Otherwise, we would take the necessary action by taking the matter to the government,” she added.
Explaining how worse was the situation back in YCP’s government, Madhavi said that contractors weren’t coming forward to take up small works.
“I assured them that their bills would be paid on time, and only then did they agree to take up the work,” she stated.
On the whole, Galla Madhavi proved her versatility in governing her constituency and is setting an example for other leaders.
