BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has been taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate this evening at her residence in Hyderabad. She is one of the accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam Case.
Tension had gripped around Kavitha’s residence for over three hours before her arrest. Her brother, KTR, and cousin, Harish Rao, were present during the arrest. They argued with the ED officials condemning raids at Kavitha’s home. Eventually, Kavitha was taken to Delhi by ED officials at 8:45 pm on a flight.
Notably, Kavitha’s father KCR did not visit her residence during the arrest, while KTR refused to speak to the media.
In the meantime, Harish Rao held a press meet and alleged that Kavitha’s arrest was a part of the BJP’s vengeance politics. He urged all BRS leaders to hold protests across all constituencies in the state, condemning Kavitha’s arrest.
