The high court instructed the authorities to stop violence in the name of Cock Fights. It has to be seen if the instructions will be followed. In the past, we have seen courts give such orders but the cock fights did not stop. We usually see MLAs, MPs and Ministers opening the fights and organising them in some areas.

As Sankranthi is round the corner, enthusiasts have already started breeding the cocks with finest of foods. Some of the birds bred like that cost 4 Lakh each. Specialists are hired to tie a blade to the bird’s limbs as the cock has to hit the target in one shot.
