The High Power Committee will look into the GN Rao Committee and BCG Report and it was asked to submit its final report in three weeks. Sources say that despite the postponement, there will be no change in the reporting date of the committee.

Once the High Power Committee submits its report to the Government, the Chief Minister will go to Delhi and appraise the situation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He will explain to them the reason for this decision and why he could not continue Amaravati as the capital.

This is to ensure that the Central Government also co-operates with Capital Change. The Government is also thinking on the lines to convene a Special Assembly session in the last week of January or the first week of February to ratify the report.
