A shocking daylight murder took place in Jagatgiri Gutta under Qutbullapur, where a man killed his friend over an old rivalry. Locals watched in disbelief as the crime unfolded in front of them.
According to Balanagar police, Roshan Singh, 25, from Rangareddy Nagar, and his friend Balasaurreddy, 23, from Somayyanagar in Jagatgiri Gutta, were both rowdy sheeters with a history of crime.
Fifteen days earlier, Roshan and his 15 friends had assaulted a transgender person in a deserted area. When the victim complained to the police for not being paid, a case was registered against Roshan and his group.
Roshan believed Balasaurreddy had informed the police and threatened to kill him. Aware of the threat, Balasaurreddy decided to strike first. While drinking together, he suddenly stabbed Roshan and fled the scene on a bike.
Roshan was rushed to Gandhi Hospital but died during treatment. Police have detained one of their friends and are investigating the case. The incident again highlights how alcohol-fueled rage continues to drive violent crimes in the city.
