The Jubilee Hills police in Hyderabad arrested a property owner for allegedly installing secret cameras in the rented home of his female tenants and recording their private activities.
The victims discovered the cameras when they found a closed-circuit camera in the electricity meter box. The police checked the camera network and computer system, where they found recorded videos of the tenants. They found footage for 12 days of recording in the digital video recorder, which, along with the camera, was also seized for further investigation.
The accused has been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act, and the investigation is ongoing.
The owner owned multiple properties and earned income from renting them out. The victims, along with their friend and cousin, reported the incident to the police after discovering the hidden camera while cleaning the flat.
