Extreme urbanisation and concrete jungles are bound to create cities that are prone to extreme natural consequences and multiple metro cities across India are examples of the same. A similar scenario is being observed in the case of Hyderabad now.
Hyderabad witnessed intense spell of rains across the city this evening, and this immediately resulted in roads turning into nearly swimming pools.
It has been over a dedicated since a completely new state level administration came to effect in Hyderabad(Telangana) but little effort has gone into the drainage system.
There are several roads across the city, which have become extremely waterlogged to the degree that there’s neck deep water everywhere. This isn’t a new problem either, but it is just that several administrations have been ignorant of the same.
For a city, that has so much promise and urban development index, a better drainage system is the need of the hour. Needless to say, these videos of waterlogged roads are going to do negative PR to the entire city.
Whichever administration and CM rescues the water logging problem in Hyderabad will go down as an urban legend and that is for sure.
