Not so long ago, there was an attention-grabbing saga surrounding the cancellation of the Formula E race after the Revanth Reddy-led Congress formed the government in Telangana. The government commented that sporting events like these are of no help to the Telangana public and even alleged financial fraud in this event which was initially orchestrated by the outgoing BRS government.
Now, the stage is set for the first major sporting event in Hyderabad after the onset of the Revanth Reddy government. The said event is the first test match between India and England that is happening in Hyderabad, starting from tomorrow, 25 January.
Previously, there were many complaints about the state of the seating facilities at the Uppal International Stadium in Hyderabad. But the stadium has been revamped completely which interestingly coincides with the formation of the Congress government in Telangana. The new-look stadium looks absolutely beautiful.
Adding to that, the Telangana government has decided to arrange 60 additional busses to the Uppal Stadium for the commute of cricket fans. This will be in addition to the existing metro rail. This is a positive reinforcement.
Though HCA is the one that looks after the cricketing affairs, good administration, arrangement of transport facilities and a better looking stadium overall will certainly reflect well on the Revanth Reddy government. So tomorrow’s test match is an opportunity for CM Revanth to impress the sport enthusiasts.
