The media has constantly been reporting incidents of violence in various forms and proportions. And for an average American, crimes by illegal immigrants are a reality today more than ever.
In fact, in 2021, there was a lull in the crime rate, showcasing an optimistic picture to most Americans. However, it is barely a matter of time as incidents like homicides, assaults, incidents of domestic violence, illegal weapons possession, and sexual offenses committed by illegal immigrants increased dramatically, as per the data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows.
In 2020, there were 208 crimes, while this increased to 1178 in 2021, which is a 400% increase. In the same year, 60 homicide and manslaughter cases were attributed to illegal immigrants, which is a 1900% increase from the past.
Illegal possession of drugs and trafficking of drugs remained a pain point for the police and Americans who are now concerned about their future and the future of their children. U.S. Customs and Border Protection says that officials took custody of 10,763 ‘criminal non-citizens’ in 2021, which meant a 300% increase from the previous year.
Incidentally, the term criminal non-citizens refer to individuals who have been convicted of one or more crimes, either in the U.S. or abroad. So far, 7253 criminal non-citizens have been arrested, and the total tally will be done by September 30, 2022. Last week, two sex offenders and nine M-13 gang members at the southern border were arrested as illegal immigration continued to skyrocket.
Officials from several Texas counties along the southern border announced a series of emergency declarations, and they asked the Biden administration to stem illegal immigration. However, the White House hasn’t issued an official statement on the matter as yet.
