India in Limited Community Transmission stageThe government of India has admitted ‘limited community transmission’ in the country but says it is limited only to the source of patients. A disease is considered to have reached ‘community transmission’, or stage 3 when authorities are unable to find the source of the infection for a large number of cases or many tests during a randomized surveillance yield positive results. The authorities say the limited community transmission is also because some people didn’t even reveal that they tested positive while others hid their travel history.

Some new cases in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh over the last two weeks only had a travel history to Delhi. Some states like Telangana stopped giving details about the source of transmission and the travel history of the new cases.

Kerala and Maharashtra have the highest number of cases so far which are more than 200 each. Meanwhile, we are in the sixth day of three weeks of Nationwide Lockdown.
