It is known that team India will be facing New Zealand in the first semi final of this year’s cricket World Cup. The match will be starting at 2 PM today and it is carrying humongous expectations.
Coming to the topic, Mumbai police are now on high alert and have heightened the security around the Wankhede International stadium and the surrounding area after an unidentified man posed a threat.
The said man shared a tweet on Twitter and tagged Mumbai Police, which has lead to concerns on the safety protocols.
He reportedly posted a threat message to Mumbai Police and stated that a heinous crime will happen during the course of the semi final today.
“An unidentified person posted a threat message to Mumbai Police on X (formerly Twitter) that a nefarious incident would be executed during the India vs New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium today” a related statement read.
The said individual posted a picture of guns, grenades, and explosives in this tweet and tagged Mumbai Police in the same.
The police immediately issued a high alert near the Wankhede and heightened security in the nearby areas.
The match will proceed as per schedule but there will be an elevated security alert at the premises in order to avoid untoward incidents.
