The marriages in India still shrouded by caste. India is socially divided as castes since ages. Some feel that there may be eradication of this menace in this global era.

But the study conducted by National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) on intercaste marriages in Benguluru revealed that only1.2% of people have members married outside caste out of 9,504 people surveyed. This intercaste marriages bandwagon is leading by the Brahmins followed by the Nayaks which is scheduled caste. The raising menace in the globalisation period can be attributed to the campaign of the caste members who are interacting with their respective caste people through social platforms like Facebook, twitter etc. by creating and maintaining specific pages.
In this way, the globalisation helped to create a platform to unite the same caste members from different parts of the world.
