Hardik Pandya took over the captaincy reigns from Rohit Sharma at Mumbai Indians and this has been the worst captaincy transition in the history of IPL in terms of acceptance. Wherever Hardik goes, he is getting booed by the crowds, given the nature in which the blub legend Rohit Sharma was replaced by Hardik.
Now, matters are likely to get worse for Hardik Pandya as Mumbai Indians are gearing up to play their first game of the season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 1st April.
Wankhede is a stadium that saw Rohit as the captain for 10 long years and the local crowds absolutely adore their local boy who captained the side in 5 IPL wins. Now, Hardik will have to fact this crowd as the captain of Mumbai and there will be a fair bit of jitters associated with the same.
The chances are that Hardik could face the loud jitters from the public and more profoundly humiliating scenes in this game at the Wankhede. Facing such a situation in front of the home crowd is not a pleasant sight for any captain but saidly in the case of Hardik, that is what he might have to content with.
