The ongoing season of IPL had its hallmark game between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians last night. For the most part, Mumbai was in a commanding position in the game but eventually lost by 20 runs to a spirited Chennai side.
Coming to the topic, the most hated and trolled player of this year’s IPL Hardik Pandya is back under the pump again after Mumbai’s defeat. This defeat has resulted in more agony for Hardik as many are commenting that he deserves all the hate he is getting.
First, the hate started when Hardik said in the post-match commentary that CSK has a man behind the stamps(Dhoni) to guide them. This triggered Mumbai fans who started abusing him for praising opposition players while his own team lost.
Kevin Pieterson and Sunil Gavaskar questioned Hardik’s captaincy. Kevin, in particular said Hardik is clearly faking his smile in the toss as he is trying to put on a brave face while Mumbai fans are booing him. The comment is that everything that is happening outside cricket is hurting him and affecting Mumbai’s game in general.
Hardik is now receiving multi-fold high hate from all quarters and it has to be seen how he will deal with this situation now.
