Prior to the start of the ongoing season of IPL, Mumbai Indians announced a shocking move that Hardik Pandya is replacing Rohit Sharma as the captain of the side.
Now, the latest commotion on social media is that Rohit Sharma must be replacing Hardik as the captain of the side.
Mumbai fans on social media are calling for a roll back of the captaincy change. They are saying Hardik is nowhere near the standard of Rohit Sharma who captained the side for a decade.
The game against SRH exposed the weak captaincy of Hardik where Hyderabad scored the highest total in the history of IPL – 277. Not being in on Bumrah earlier and weak bowler rotation worked against the cause for Hardik.
Mumbai fans are pushing the social media narrative that Rohit is the only right choice for the captaincy position and he must replace Hardik soon.
But changing captaincy is a huge decision and is practically impossible for Mumbai at the moment, despite the commotion from fans.
Rohit pulled a comparatively weaker bowling attack of Mumbai to semi finals last year but Hardik is struggling even with a stronger bowling attack at his disposal. But will this be enough to bring back Rohit as the captain?
