Reports are emerging that the BJP High Command may change the State Party Unit President. Sources say that Former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy will be replacing Daggubati Purandeshwari.

There has been a gap between Kiran and the TDP cadre for a long time.
In fact, things do not go well between Kiran and Chandrababu. They have been rivals always and remained so until the bifurcation.

Chandrababu continued to thrive even after the bifurcation while Kiran Kumar Reddy’s political career got stagnant.
In the recent elections, Kiran Kumar Reddy contested for Rajampeta Parliament and lost.

Hence the vote transfer became difficult. As a result, Mithun Reddy won the seat by a small margin of 76,071 votes. If there was a TDP candidate, it would have been a sure-shot seat.
The appointment of Kiran Kumar Reddy, however, will raise eyebrows.
Since 2014, the BJP always adopted the strategy of having an anti-TDP President even when in alliance.
Between 2014 and 2019, We have seen Somu Veerraju trouble TDP as if they are not part of the government.
We will have to see if they adopt the same strategy through Kiran Kumar Reddy.
If they do so it will be the first crack in the alliance and if that happens, it will be interesting to see which side Pawan Kalyan will take.
