In an expected announcement, Sharmila has taken charge as the new president of Andhra Pradesh Congress wing. Sharmila, as the AP Congress President will now have the license to take on Jagan.
“I promise to work faithfully towards rebuilding the party to its past glory in the State of Andhra Pradesh with total commitment and integrity . On this occasion I would also like to thank @manickamtagore ji , and am looking forward to working closely with each and every Congress foot soldier” Sharmila tweeted shortly after being appointed as AP Congress President.
Amidst the narrative that Sharmila was sidelined by Jagan and this angered her steeply to an extent where she took a separate political stance, it has to be seen how Sharmila will take on Jagan henceforth. She has the backing of National Congress as well, which should give her most zest.
If Sharmila makes any personal comments on Jagan, it will certainly reflect badly on the YCP chief as he will be seen as a man who betrayed his sister. Sharmila could start her election campaign very soon, given that there are less than 90 days for the elections.
