Jagan Skips Question About Three Capitals!

Jagan speaks on Amaravati and capital

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed the media and accused the Government of failing farmers during Cyclone conditions. He repeated that he gave welfare benefits during his term and said this Government has offered nothing. He defended his leaders on the TTD Parakamani and Laddu adulteration cases.

When asked about Phase 2 land acquisition for Amaravati, Jagan continued to call the project a scam involving insider trading and inflated construction costs. A journalist asked him about the three capitals idea and public rejection of it. Jagan cut the question short, called it a diversion, and moved on without answering.

Since the 2024 defeat, Jagan has avoided a clear stand on the capital issue. He even skipped the Amaravati 2.0 Restart event despite being invited. His silence raises questions, yet some believe he wants to keep the three capitals plan open for 2029.

However, the situation appears tougher this time. The Amaravati Bill will go before Parliament this session. Once cleared, Amaravati will receive statutory protection as the capital of Andhra Pradesh. Earlier delays from 2014–19 came from court cases and letters sent to global agencies, but those hurdles are now mostly cleared.

With work expected to move faster in Amaravati, changing the capital no longer seems realistic.
