Vidadala Rajini Becomes Lab Rat For Jagan’s Experiments

YS Jagan and Vidadhala Rajini political move

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy continues to make strange moves in the name of caste equations. One major reason for the YSR Congress Party’s 2024 defeat was his decision to shuffle leaders between constituencies based on caste calculations. Many struggled in new areas and lost despite strong efforts.

Even after the setback, Jagan seems to have learned little. Reports suggest he now plans to shift former minister Vidadhala Rajini to another constituency. Rajini, who represented Chilakaluripeta in 2019, had shocked many by defeating TDP’s senior leader Prathipati Pulla Rao.

Jagan rewarded her with a ministerial berth during his second cabinet expansion, overlooking senior YSRCP leaders from the Palnadu district. She served as Health Minister for two and a half years. However, before the 2024 elections, Jagan moved her to Guntur West, where she lost despite working hard.

After her defeat, Rajini quietly returned to Chilakaluripeta and resumed local work. But sources say Jagan now wants to field her from Repalle to challenge Minister Anagani Satyaprasad, who enjoys strong support from BC voters in that region.

Anagani recently scored a hat-trick victory. In the first two terms, he defeated YSRCP heavyweight Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, pushing him out of active politics. Jagan later made Mopidevi a minister and later a Rajya Sabha MP, but even that move failed to unseat Anagani.

In 2024, Jagan fielded Evuru Ganesh against Anagani, but the TDP leader won again with over 40,000 votes. During the previous term, Jagan allegedly pressured Anagani to join YSRCP by targeting his mining business, but Anagani stayed loyal to Chandrababu Naidu.

Anagani also fought Jagan’s government inside the Assembly and in his constituency. After the defeat, Mopidevi Venkata Ramana joined the TDP. Determined to defeat Anagani in 2029, Jagan is now turning to Rajini, even though she is reportedly unwilling to move to Repalle.

Sources say Jagan is firm on sending her there and may convince her soon. This move again shows his continued focus on caste-based electoral strategies, despite repeated failures.
