Opposition Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy skipped yet another event in Amaravati. He did not attend the assembly inauguration the other day in Velagapudi. The government and Speaker’s Office claimed that they have sent invitation to all MLAs including the Opposition Leader. But the YSR Congress claims that they are not invited.

One can not verify the facts but then Jagan already had enough blame on him alleging that he is anti-Amaravati and anti-development. Such misses will only reiterate that. Just days before the inauguration, Jagan wrote a letter to Speaker Kodela that Chandrababu shifted to Amaravati after Cash for Vote and should not be allowed to enter new assembly with stolen bounty (defected MLAs).
While political allegations do exist anywhere. Choosing the time of an historic event to make such comments is extremely bad taste. Jagan’s letter and skipping the event will give a feeling that he is unable to digest the development and the fact Amaravati is the capital. Even if Jagan did not get an invitation, he should somehow go to the event as he is not going to Chandrababu’s house and has all rights to go there according to the protocol.
YSR Congress thinktank needs to do some serious home work on this issue. On the other side, the budget session of Andhra Pradesh Assembly will begin on March 6th. Let’s hope the new assembly will see some meaningful discussions of people’s problems other than those adjournments and opposition disrupting the proceedings of the house.
