YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Kadapa on the anniversary of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy. During the trip, he met onion and sugarcane farmers, but his remarks quickly turned into a social media meme fest, drawing attention from rival camps.
In one viral clip, Jagan accused the TDP government of failing to provide MSP to farmers and said onions were being sold at Rs 35 per kilo in Heritage Stores. His comments sparked ridicule from the ruling party’s supporters online.
Another clip showed Nara Lokesh mocking Jagan, claiming he could not tell the difference between an onion and a potato. Lokesh said it has been eight years since Heritage Stores were sold and that only Future or Reliance outlets exist now.
Telangana IT Minister added that Jagan seemed to have lost track of time. The ruling party’s jibes highlighted how one outdated remark overshadowed the purpose of Jagan’s Kadapa visit and became the centre of political debate.
