Jagan’s Plan B: MAVIGUN Is New Capital Of AP!

Jagan MAVIGUN capital proposal

On a historic day when Amaravati was officially declared as the capital of Andhra Pradesh by the Parliament of India, YS Jagan took a different stand. His response stood in contrast to the wider celebrations across the Telugu community.

While many welcomed Amaravati as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan proposed an alternative idea. He introduced a new capital concept named MAVIGUN, which has now sparked fresh political discussions in the state.

Jagan suggested developing a capital region connecting Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur. He described this triangular zone as MAVIGUN, stating it would span around 110 kilometres across the stretch.

This proposal is being viewed by some as a diversion at a time when Amaravati is gaining official recognition in Parliament. The political debate has intensified as different parties continue to take opposing positions.

During the ongoing discussions, YCP MPs walked out of Parliament, stating their opposition to the Amaravati Bill. This move has added another layer of tension to the already complex capital issue.

Andhra Pradesh is now facing a unique situation where the ruling government is pushing for a permanent capital, while the opposition is resisting and suggesting alternatives. This has created uncertainty around a crucial administrative decision.

The ongoing volatility over the capital issue has raised concerns among observers. A clear and stable approach is essential for governance and long-term development in the state.

Experts believe Andhra Pradesh can attract investments only when stability is ensured. A consistent vision on the capital will play a key role in building investor confidence and driving economic growth.
