Jagan Mohan Reddy has come up with a new capital idea and a suggestion for AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. The YSRCP chief asked Chandrababu to stop thinking about personal gains.
Jagan said, Ayya Chandrababu garu, please set aside thinking about increasing wealth of your benamis. For once, think about the people, advised Jagan.
Instead of taking such huge loans and doing so many scams, take some 500 acres land between Vijayawada and Guntur. Build all the structures there and wrap up the capital. Over time, Vijayawada and Guntur will merge, Jagan Reddy went on to say.
Well, all of it sounds fine. But YS Jagan was the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh between 2019-2024. The state remained without a capital. All along, Jagan spoke about three capitals for decentralization of power.
But the ex CM did not start work on any of the three proposed capitals. If building a capital was so easy, why didn’t he do it himself and give the state a capital, question political analysts.
