Former Chief Minister Jagan toured Narsipatnam in Anakapalli district on Thursday. During his visit, several flexis featuring Dr Sudhakar’s picture appeared across the town. They read, “A person responsible for deaths by not supplying masks is talking about medical colleges. People… beware.”
Jagan’s tour carried the slogan Chalo Narsipatnam, say no to privatization of medical colleges. He also visited the Makavarapalem medical college as part of his schedule. However, Dalit organisations in the constituency expressed anger by putting up the flexis targeting him.
The groups alleged that anaesthetist Dr Sudhakar’s request for PPE kits during the pandemic was ignored, leading to his mental trauma and eventual death. The flexis were their way of voicing resentment against Jagan’s previous government.
Many locals believe people are no longer accepting Jagan’s narrative. They are now openly questioning how the earlier administration’s actions caused distress to common citizens.
