YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressed the media again, this time focusing on land survey issues and new Passbooks issued by the Chandrababu Naidu Government. He spoke at length, calling the land survey during his tenure historic. He claimed such an exercise had not happened in the last 100 years.
Jagan alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu Government was indulging in credit chori by taking ownership of his work. He compared himself with Chandrababu Naidu and his father, saying Chandrababu Naidu was struggling to compete with him. He added that he was of Chandrababu Naidu’s son’s age.
Beyond technical claims, public anger around the land survey centred on the presentation of Passbooks and boundary markers. Jagan’s photos and party colours appeared prominently on Pattadar Passbooks. Boundary Stones marking land limits also carried his engraved image.
This move triggered strong public backlash. Many people feared misuse of land records and possible land grabbing. The issue reportedly played a key role in YSR Congress losing the 2024 elections.
The long press meet, which lasted over two hours, skipped this critical issue entirely. Jagan did not explain why his photos appeared on Passbooks and Boundary Stones. The silence stood out more than the explanations he offered.
By avoiding the topic, the matter remains unresolved. Questions around intent and accountability continue to linger. The issue may resurface during his Padayatra, even if avoided in controlled press meets.
