Senior IAS Officer K Dhananjay Reddy is the most powerful Official in the Government. He has been the additional secretary to the chief minister since Jagan came to power in 2019.
Dhananjay Reddy is the key man in the CMO and nothing happens without his nod. All the key decisions, important files, postings, and appointments of officers in various departments were to be ratified by him.
Every single bill will be cleared only if he gives verbal instructions.
While Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was the face, Dhananjay Reddy was the actual soul of the Government, many say.
He even played a crucial role in deciding the candidates of the YSR Congress in the recent elections.
The 2006-batch IAS officer retired today after reaching the age of superannuation.
It is interesting to note that he did not seek any extension. If he is interested, Jagan would have easily prevailed on the Central Government and get him an extension.
There is talk in the Corridors of Velagapudi Secretariat that Dhananjay Reddy believes Chandrababu returning to power.
That is the reason why he did not seek an extension fearing Vendetta by Naidu.
Also, he feels assured Jagan will bring him back via some Advisor role if elected.
But then, if Jagan’s Righthand is not sure about winning, something is really fishy.
