YS Jagan Mohan Reddy changed the date for the Capital Shift for the nth time. Until recently Jagan was saying he would shift to Vishakapatnam by Dussehra but now gave away a new date.
Speaking in Vizag today, Jagan said, “I will shift to Vishakapatnam by December. Entire administration will function from here. Vizag is already an educational hub, it will develop on all fronts”.
December shift means it will be only three months before the Election code.
Also, it is not the capital shift, Jagan is setting up a camp office there and wants to give the impression that the capital has shifted.
It’s been three years since capital-related bills were withdrawn from the Assembly. In December 2019, Jagan made the first announcement about the three capitals.
In four years, neither the capital was shifted nor anything happened to develop Vishakapatnam.
It is more of a bait to the people of Vishakapatnam ahead of the elections.
There is no excitement or disappointment in the people about these repeated announcements or postponements. That is because no one has any expectations of Jagan regarding the capital development or Vishakapatnam development.
Even if the shift happens one day, it is unlikely to excite the people for the same reason.
During the height of the Jagan wave in 2019, TDP won all four assembly seats in Vizag city. Jagan seems to be desperate to woo the voters there with these announcements.
