YS Jagan Mohan Reddy released the Manifesto of YSR Congress for the upcoming elections. The Manifesto ended up as a Big disappointment.
First things first, there is no focus on development, infrastructure creation, and jobs.
In One and a half hours of Jagan’s manifesto speech, less than five minutes is about the three capitals and projects including Polavaram indicating the seriousness on Development issues.
The Manifesto is only about Freebies and Jagan had disappointed that segment of the voters as well. No new schemes were introduced. It appears like the existing schemes were slightly enhanced even that are numbers magic.
Let us look into the three major flagship schemes.
Pensions: Jagan promised to increase pensions from 3,000 Rupees to 3,500 Rupees and that too in two phases. Chandrababu Naidu already announced 4,000 Rupees of Pensions with arrears from April.
Rythu Bharosa: Jagan Mohan Reddy announced to increase in the yearly payment from 13,500 Rupees to 16,000 Rupees. This is the magic of numbers. Jagan pays only 7,500 Rupees out of 13,500 and the Central Government pays the remaining 6,000 Rupees every year. Now, Jagan’s component has increased to 9,000 Rupees per year which is much lower than the 10,000 Rupees per year he promised in the 2019 manifesto.
Amma Vodi: Jagan announces to increase of Rs 15000 to Rs 17,000 every year. In these five years, Jagan only paid for four times. In 17,000 Rupees, Jagan will cut 2000 Rupees – 1000 for the Toilet Maintenance Fund (TMF) and another 1000 for the School Maintenance Fund (SMF). That means parents will receive only 15000 per year. That is what Jagan promised in the 2019 manifesto. Moreover, Jagan is going to give for only one child while Chandrababu gives 15,000 per year without any cap on the number of child beneficiaries in a family.
The remaining schemes are also not anything exciting. The Manifesto looks no match to Chandrababu’s Super Six. In Super Six, there is free RTC travel to women, three gas cylinders free, a monthly unemployment allowance of 3,000, etc.
The complete manifesto of TDP+ will come on the 30th of this month and that can be a gamechanger
