Jagan’s Offer: One RS Seat to BJP?

YS-Jagan-Narendra-Modi

YS Jagan is set to visit New Delhi to meet with Home Minister Amit Shah, where he is reportedly planning to offer one Rajya Sabha seat to the BJP in exchange for cooperation in the next general elections in Andhra Pradesh.

This move indicates a potential contest in the upcoming unanimous election.

YSRCP has already announced its three nominees for the Rajya Sabha election: YV Subba Reddy, Golla Babu Rao, and Aarani Srinivasa Rao.

Meanwhile, TDP has yet to decide on its candidate, but recent developments in YSRCP suggest that TDP will field a candidate.

If YS Jagan extends an offer of one Rajya Sabha seat to BJP, one of the three YSRCP candidates will be sacrificed.

Discussions have been taking place at Tadepalli on the agenda for the meeting with Amit Shah.

TDP is strategically positioning itself to take advantage of internal crises within YSRCP, aiming to secure a seat in the Rajya Sabha.

The ruling party is working to prevent any defections among its MLAs. With three Rajya Sabha seats vacant due to retirements, YSRCP is expected to comfortably win all three seats based on its numerical strength in the assembly.

However, internal dissension within YSRCP, including the denial of seats to some sitting MLAs and transfers of MLAs to other places, has intensified.

Reports indicate that tickets are being denied to around 40-50 MLAs, leading to some exploring options to join other parties. The suspense lies in how many of these MLAs will vote for YSRCP’s Rajya Sabha candidates.

To manage this situation, the YSRCP leadership has entrusted former TTD chairman YV Subbareddy with the responsibility of ensuring that their candidates secure the votes they need to win all three seats.
