Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seem to be following the same strategy as former Congress CM, YS Rajasekhar Reddy. YSR back then used to have a back door understanding with MIM in GHMC. Congress would field weak candidates in MIM segments ensuring their win.

There used to be no alliance before the elections to ensure Hindu votes do not go away from Congress. Later MIM and Congress would share the Mayor position. KCR is also following similar strategy. Both TRS and MIM will be contesting independently in the elections.
In a meeting with party leaders and people’s representatives, KCR the other day confirmed that MIM is with TRS itself and will come to help if they need more numbers to win the Mayor seat. The Chief Minister had set a target of winning 75-85 divisions to the party.
