The First ever meeting of the Apex Council took place in Delhi the other day. Though the two chief ministers met several times in the last two years, this is for the first time that they are sharing the table with the central government. Out of the five agendas of the meeting, they were able to reach a consensus on three.

The left over two issues are the crucial ones but since it is the first meeting, we can hope they will be able to reach a common ground sometime in future. The good thing is both the sides at least showed the intent to resolve the issues through dialogue. Telangana CMO released a Press Note on the meeting but the tone in that is slightly different.
Usually, such Press Notes try to project the issue in a normal tone and should be hopeful about the future as we all do. But the Press Note has a mention about how Harish Rao got into a verbal duel with AP CM Chandrababu Naidu questioning his dual tone. “How can you say we should move in a friendly manner while objecting Palamuru and Dindi Projects? You need to give us 45 TMC out of Pattiseema even that you are not doing,” Harish said.
The Press Note said that the debate between Chandrababu, Devineni Uma, and Harish is getting heated and then, Telangana CM KCR intervened and pacified them. Experts look into the issue in different directions. “There are a good majority of people in Telangana who want their government to fight for Telangana Rights. This ‘official’ leak is aimed to satisfy them. And then the CM should not do that so Harish was used. Later CM intervened to pacify. In a way, both the purposes are served. It’s a good political strategy,” they opined.
