As Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has sounded the beagle for Snap Polls, the Opposition in Telangana is also regrouping to prepare themselves for the elections. Congress had announced that it will announce its first list of candidates in September.

They are likely to do that immediately after TRS announces its candidates. Telangana Jana Samithi founder-president M Kodandaram is likely to announce the party candidates from some of the Assembly constituencies in September on the lines of TRS and Congress.
Kodandaram is speaking of contesting alone while there is tremendous pressure on him from various quarters to go for an alliance with opposition parties to ensure that the anti-TRS vote is not divided between the Opposition parties.
But then with the talks not initiated yet, there will be a lot of chaos given that KCR had intelligently cornered them. We have seen several instances where last-minute alliances have resulted in only mistakes favouring the ruling party. KCR who is at the receiving end of such alliances in 2009 elections knows that very well.
