In the wake of the ongoing channels ban controversy in Telangana, the journalists of the state are offended by the ‘will break their necks and will bury them 10Kms deep in the ground’ comment by the Chief Minister. Several senior journalists have come out open and condemned the hate speech of the Chief Minister, K Chandra Sekhar Rao. So, in order to cool the journalists of the state and please them, Telangana government has come up with the scheme of providing free education to the children of journalists.
This scheme is currently rolled out only in Hyderabad and the government is thinking on the lines of extending it to all the districts of Telangana. As a part of this, the Hyderabad district Education department had sent out a notice to all the government recognized schools in Hyderabad to provide free education to the children of the journalists. However the government did not clear in those notices if it is going to bear the expenses of the journalists’ children on behalf of their parents. The school managements are planning to write to the government to issue clarity regarding it.
