It is known that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao takes so much of pride in protecting and using of Nizam buildings. His actions of holding the Independence day celebrations in Golconda fort and changing Metro aligment to protect Sultan Bazaar and Assembly building reflect the same. And now KCR wants to use the old Saifabad Palace of the Nizam as his office.
The Palace is not in use for more than a decade and will require about 20 Crore for renovations and KCR is ready to shell the amount. Some of the unique architectural features of the palace include its classical European style with grand semi-circular arches, imposing arched portico, Corinthian columns and high ceiling. The ornate staircase and a lift add to richness of the building.
