Hyderabad High Court had instructed Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti to take all measures to make sure that the height of the Ganesh idols not to be more than 15 feet. The court made some serious comments not to obstruct the city development in the name of idols. This directive will also be applicable to the famous Khairathabad Ganesh.

On the other side, the construction of the idol already began. The Utsav committee already announced that the idol this time will be 58 feet height and 28 feet width. The court also asked the government what steps it had taken to make sure the height of the idols are controlled.
The government Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma already requested Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti to keep the idols height up to 15 feet as the city is already suffering from traffic snarls due to the ongoing Metro Rail construction. We will have to see what the Utsav Committee does about this court’s directive now!
