MLC Kavitha recently traveled to the United States but remains active in Telangana politics. She sent a flower bouquet and a letter wishing Minister Konda Surekha on her birthday. Surekha shared the gesture on X, thanking Kavitha publicly.
This development is notable because Surekha and KTR have had a strained relationship. Last October, Surekha blamed KTR for actor Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce and accused him of phone-tapping. KTR condemned the remarks as baseless and filed a criminal defamation case against her.
Two weeks ago, the Nampally court directed police to register a criminal case against Surekha under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Amid this bitter legal battle, Kavitha’s cordial gesture toward Surekha highlights growing tensions between the siblings.
BRS supporters have criticized Kavitha, urging KCR to suspend her. However, the former CM appears unwilling to fuel family conflicts while the party faces political challenges. Kavitha has also been operating independently under her Telangana Jagruthi platform.
Her earlier letter criticized party functioning and signaled her displeasure with KTR being projected as KCR’s heir. With opposition pressures and now a family feud, BRS faces an internal test of unity.
