Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao in an interview rubbished the fears of Amaravati as substantial competition for Hyderabad. “I don’t see anything concrete happening anytime soon. Hyderabad has evolved over the last 430 years. No company invests for charity. They invest in a city because it benefits them”, KTR said.

“People have invested in Hyderabad because it makes business sense; the city has the talent to offer; disaster recovery centers of many large conglomerates are based out of Hyderabad because it’s a seismologically stable zone. There’s no earthquake, no cyclone, no tsunami here,” the Minister added.
In a way, KTR is listing the disadvantages Amaravati is feared to have. KTR even rubbished the Ports advantage to Andhra and said Dry Port planned in Telangana will take care of that. He concluded the interview saying that “When we know our competition is global, why will we worry about any next door neighbor?”.
