BRS working president KTR said that the law will take its own course. He made this statement in response to Governor Jishnudev Varma’s orders allowing prosecution against him.
KTR said there is nothing in the Formula e-Racing case. He added that the government would not dare to arrest him. He also spoke about the issue of defecting MLAs and said his party members were informed that Danam Nagender would be made to resign. He claimed the government was instead trying to find loopholes to protect Kadiyam Srihari.
The case involves an allegation that contracts were given to companies in exchange for electoral bonds worth Rs 50 crore. Although the Telangana government contacted the Governor two months ago, approval was given only on Thursday. KTR repeated that he is ready for any detector test and called the Formula e-Racing case a lotta peesu case.
Political analysts say KTR is relying on the belief that an arrest could generate sympathy for him among citizens of Telangana, which may help the BRS in local body elections. They also note that the government may still choose to arrest him, especially after its victory in Jubilee Hills.
