While YSR Congress makes tall claims about defeating Political Heavy Weight Chandrababu Naidu in Kuppam, the ground reality is that the party is plagued by group politics in the constituency.
Some people attacked YSRCP MLC Bharat PA Murugesh with weapons. Murugesh was seriously injured in this attack.
Two others – Subramaniam and municipal chairman PA Ramulu, sustained minor injuries.
Meanwhile, Kuppam Municipal Vice-Chairman Munuswamy is rumored to be the perpetrator of these attacks. The incident occurred at night in a residency hotel on the local Kuppam bypass road.
The YCP leadership is trying to settle the issue without police cases.
The police say no complaint has been received on the incident.
Murugesh’s younger brother kept a post on social media claiming that his brother Murugesh was attacked and severely beaten by a YCP leader and it has become a topic of discussion.
Bharath is going to be the candidate against Chandrababu Naidu in Kuppam. The former Chief Minister has been representing Kuppam seven times. In two of the elections, he defeated Bharath’s father, Chandramouli.
