The accused in the Rs 3200 crore liquor scam were produced before the Vijayawada ACB Court on Friday. Their remand ended today, so they were brought to court again.
After hearing the arguments, the Court extended the remand till September 18. Following the ruling, MP Mithun Reddy was taken back to Rajahmundry central jail.
Meanwhile, Sajjala Sridhar Reddy expressed regret for spending 140 days in jail. He said he wants to remain neutral and requested release, mentioning that he needs to take care of his parents.
On the other hand, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy said those responsible for jailing him will face consequences. He stressed that he never touched liquor, as his father and brother had died due to drinking. He felt hurt being linked to a liquor case.
After hearing all statements, the Court again extended the remand till September 18. All the accused have applied for bail, but it has not been approved yet.
