The consecration ceremony or “pran pratishtha” of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is underway today. After years of legal battle, Ram Lalla (Lord Rama in the form of a five-year-old boy) is returning to his Birthplace and a magnificient Temple was built at the same place where the Babri Masjid once stood.
The Supreme Court ruled that the Masjid was constructed demolishing the temple.
According to the history, a Temple of Ram exists at the place but Babur in his spree of demolishing Hindu temples demolished it in the sixteenth century and constructed a Masjid.
The issue is always controversial since then. The idols of Rama and Sita were placed in the mosque in 1949 and the biggest turn of events came in 1992 when Karsewaks attacked the Masjid and demolished it in 1992.
After Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) found a non-Muslim structure under the Masjid, the Supreme Court in 2019 delivered the verdict to give the disputed land to Hindus for construction of the temple, while Muslims would be given land elsewhere to construct a mosque.
The Temple which had its Bhoomi Pooja in 2020 is still under construction and the Pran Pratishtha is happening today.
Celebrities across the country are in Ayodhya to celebrate the eve. The entire country is celebrating the home-coming of the Ram Lalla.
