The DMK is leading on 21 seats, Congress on nine seats, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi on two seats, the Communist Party of India on two seats, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on two seats, and Pattali Makkal Katchi, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Indian Union Muslim League leading on one each.

Despite prior speculation about Annamalai’s potential victory, the latest numbers show him trailing by nearly 40,000 votes.

BJP’s propaganda news agency made Annamalai a hero by covering every move, every speech, and every rally of his from the past one and a half years.

Annamalai also gave the impression to the BJP that he was going to win a seat for them. He made them spend crores by making them believe that he would open BJP’s account in terms of seats in Tamil Nadu.

But he is on track to lose by a very big margin, according to the latest reports. Some political satirists from other parties say that Annamalai made a fool out of the BJP which is famous for making a fool out of the public.
