BRS recently made an alliance with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The alliance was announced jointly by BRS leader KCR and BSP’s Telangana President RS Praveen Kumar just a couple of weeks ago.

As per the agreement, BSP will be fielding candidates in two out of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state, Nagarkurnool, which is reserved for SC candidates, and Hyderabad, which falls under the General category. As of now, it remains uncertain whether Praveen Kumar will contest in these elections.

Generally, BRS places a nominal contestant in Hyderabad, in support of Asaduddin Owaisi, who has long been its friendly ally. So, sacrificing this seat didn’t come as a big surprise.

With BRS backing out from contesting in Hyderabad, the focus now shifts to BSP’s choice of candidate for this crucial constituency.

Meanwhile, confirmed candidates for the seat include Asaduddin Owaisi from AIMIM and Madhavi Latha from BJP, with Congress yet to announce its contender for the Hyderabad constituency.
