3rd Time CM Has 45K Cash, What About House?

Mamata Banerjee asset details

Indian politics are a costly affair, and that is the reason why several leading parties across the country require several hundreds of crores in funding and election expenditure.

However, the situation with Mamata Banerjee who happens to be the third consecutive chief minister of West Bengal has a very contrasting financial outlook. She is one of the poorest chief ministers, according to her own affidavit that was filed before the West Bengal assembly election that is coming up.

Known as one of poorest chief ministers of the country, Mamata Banerjee has declared ₹15.4 lakh worth total assets.

Despite serving her third consecutive term as the chief minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee has declared that she has only around ₹45,000 in cash. Along with that, she has less than 10 g of gold with her, which is another shockingly low statistic.

This would naturally rank Mamata Banerjee as one of the poorest chief minister in a country, considering the extremely low financial declarations that she has made with her affidavit.

As per the existing records, Mamata is possibly the poorest CM in the country with less than ₹16 lakh in total assets. This is particularly interesting, considering that West Bengal is one of the biggest economies in India, but its chief minister happens to be the poorest in the country.

On the contrary, we have AP chief minister Chandrababu as the richest CM in the country with ₹930 crore assets. Arunachal Pradesh CM Prema Khandu has ₹332 crore assets and in 3rd position we have Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah at Rs 51 crore.
