Mangalagiri: Lavanya Tension In YSR Congress

Nara Lokesh lost his first election in 2019.

Lokesh did not flee the constituency after the defeat and worked hard to win the confidence of the electorate there.

Today, all surveys project a very comfortable victory for Lokesh in the coming elections.

Jagan changed four incharges in Mangalagiri as he struggled to find a candidate to defeat the Nara Scion.

Finally, he zeroed in on a girl named Lavanya hoping that BC and Woman card would work. But then, Lavanya Tension is causing a headache for the YSR Congress now in Mangalagiri.

A young woman aged 41 named Lavanya Nainala filed her nomination as an Independent in Mangalagiri.

YSR Congress claims that she is of the same age as their candidate Lavanya Murugudu and looks similar to her.

They fear that if she gets a symbol similar to the fan symbol of the YSR Congress, it can cause confusion in the aged voters of the constituency.

Independents are allowed to choose symbols of their choice from the list of available free symbols.

There are certain symbols that are similar to fan. So, the YSR Congress cadre is worried. They are pressuring and threatening Lavanya Nainala and her family members to withdraw from the contest.

In the Telangana elections, the Chapati roller and stick and Road Roller symbols which appear similar to the car symbol of the BRS got a significant number of votes due to the symbol confusion.

BRS supporters claim such symbols resulted in the defeat of their candidates in seats where there is a close contest.

But then, it is unlikely that there will be a close contest in Mangalagiri. As per most surveys, Lokesh is decisively ahead in the constituency.
