Telangana High Court clearly instructed APCID not to conduct Pressmeets about the Margadarshi investigation but the CID is continuing to infringe the order and is trying to scare the Margadarsi subscribers.
The other day, they brought a subscriber, Annapurna Devi who claims that she subscribed to 90 chits and became bankrupt. Annapurna Devi was in tears in the Pressmeet.
Eenadu carried a complete explanation of what happened to this particular subscriber.
Both the CID and Annapurna Devi alleged that in respect of 65 chits worth 14 crores in 8-10 years, only Rs.48 lakhs were paid while she paid 8 crores. In forty-five of these chits, she paid 7 Crores but only got 8,000 Rupees.
They alleged that the branch managers and board members are putting pressure on her that the account will not be closed unless she pays another Rs. 1.7 crore to the organization.
But then, the facts are different. Annapurna Devi is not just a customer for Margadarshi. She turned into an Agent brought other customers to the company and got the commission. She herself enrolled 90 Chits and for most of them, she is the Agent and also received the commission.
She also enrolled her daughter and family members into chits and also took Agent Commission. While she enrolled in the chits, their family into the poultry business but she defaulted when the poultry business ran into losses.
Margadarsi started legal procedures for the recovery of the pending amounts. If the company does not do this, the other subscribers will suffer. So, she ran into all sorts of problems for being greedy.
Apparently with the business losses, her own chits becoming the default, and Margadarshi recovering money, Annapurna Devi’s tears in the Pressmeet may be genuine but her own greed and her bad luck (Poultry business) are the causes.
But the Government intelligently tried to use her to trouble Margadarshi and Ramoji Rao.
It is as if an Aloo curry is cleverly garnished to show the world as if it is a chicken curry. But sadly the Government misusing the system and playing with subscribers’ money is pathetic.
