“Merge TRS With Congress Like Chiranjeevi”

KTR

Telangana Minister KTR recently appeared on ABN’s “Big Debate”, discussing various political matters in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and at the central level.

KTR expressed his strong belief in Chief Minister KCR’s potential to achieve a remarkable hat trick victory, unprecedented in South India. He also confidently predicted that their party, BRS, would secure over 80 seats in the upcoming general elections in Telangana.

He also revealed an interesting flashback where his father had decided to merge TRS with Congress. He said, “After the bill to form a separate Telangana was passed in 2014, my father KCR decided to merge with Congress. I had decided I would quit politics that day as our aim to achieve Telangana was fulfilled and my Dad’s name became etched in the annals of Telangana history. Also, I hated Congress and till today I believe that Congress is responsible for all the difficulties this country is facing today.”

He continued, “That day Sonia Gandhi and the Congress high command asked KCR to merge his party with Congress unconditionally just like Chiranjeevi had done with Prajarajyam Party. TRS had around 70-80 MLA candidates who had dedicated all their lives and properties to the Telangana movement and expected a future in the Congress party after the merging. But Congress was not ready to make any promises regarding seat sharing.”

KTR went on to describe the arrogance displayed by Telangana Congress members, who made derogatory remarks about KCR. They believed that Telangana people would forget his father’s contributions, rendering him irrelevant in Telangana politics. Faced with this, KCR, who was the only genuine voice of Telangana, decided against merging TRS with Congress.
